PKI Academy of Sustainable Environments & Renewable Resources

Monday July 21-Thursday July 24

 

This Academy focuses on the growing need to promote green building practices, technologies, policies and standards to build an environmentally responsible, economically profitable, and healthy future for the region.  At the Academy, students experience interactive workshops including sustainable construction and energy efficiency and tours of the NU Zero Net Energy Test Houses (ZNETH & ZNETH II).  The Academy also includes hands-on demonstrations in several of our state-of-the-art labs.  The final day of the academy will feature a Sustainability Summit which will include demonstrations of how sustainability is applied in the real world and exhibits from leading sustainable companies and organizations.  The Sustainability Summit is FREE and open to the public!   Thanks to the generosity of our sponsor, OPPD, there is no cost to attend the Academy.  Participants must be rising high school seniors (class of 2015) from a Nebraska, Iowa or Midwest state.  Selection criterion is based upon academic achievement as well as extracurricular involvement and leadership experience. In addition to completing an online application, the following items will also need to be submitted:
