Distinguished Lecture Series
The Peter Kiewit Institute (PKI) introduced its inaugural Distinguished Lecture Series during the 2009/2010 academic year. The lecture series consist of two lectures per year, one during the Fall semester and one during the Spring semester. While serving as a key component of the PKI Leader Development Program, primary invitees are Scott Scholars and select students from the Peter Kiewit Institute. Community and University leaders are also invited.
The Distinguished Lecture Series is a component of the PKI Leadership Development Program with a mission to develop students of character with the leadership, communication, and teamwork skills needed for successful careers in business, industry and government. Our goals are to foster holistic personal growth across intellectual, social, leadership, physical and spiritual domains. The intended outcome of the development program is to give student scholars key professional, social and business skills that round out their academic and intellectual growth. The Distinguished Lecture Series is designed to expose our student-scholars to prominent leaders from government, industry, academia and athletics. Students listen in as the distinguished speakers share their experiences of personal growth while passing along life’s lessons.
